Baffles?

Default Baffles?

I have a 1999 sportster 1200c, I put an Arlen Ness big sucker on it, and cycle shack mufflers, i had it jetted at the local H-D Dealer. I have now decided it isnt quite as loud as i would like it and would like to take the baffles out. Would i need to do anything else? (re-jet?) Or would i lose power? Thanks in advance.

Please correct me if I am wrong but you will only loose power (torque) and you don't need to re-jet.

I swapped my baffles three times and never had to re-jet and the bike runs good. Now I just have a different set of pipes :-)

You may or may not. In my experince I changed my pipes and took the baffles out and had to re-jet. and then this winter i got a new air breather and agian had to re-jet. I want to say i'm running 48/180 jets on my bike. And I have a 03 sporty. So I thinkg your just going to have to take the baffles out and see. It was always at lower speeds that my bike would back fire and let me know that it needed more fuel.

drilled out the baffles on my '11. much better all around. but yes, will back fire once in a great while. I'm just going to get that O2 aftermarket plug (xited) . should be fine.
