SEIIs sound much better than stock, but I may want it louder. I also want to keep the look (which means keeping wthe pipes), so what do you guys think about removing the baffles. I've heard peeps say that it's okay as long as you keep the pipes long. I know some of you have done this, so I really want to hear from all sides.
as long as you tune your scoot to your pipes it wont hurt it but perf. will change . but i have found that with the factory cross over the more you free up the muff. the better it runs as long as you keep your mixture right.
The lack of baffles will lower back pressure too much and create flat spots and torque loss that will be hard or near impossible to tune out. Been there/done that. At the very least, install the big city baffles for the screamin eagle's or some slip in baffles into the header pipe in front of the mufflers if you gut the them.
I've heard bikes with seii's without the baffles, and imo, it's louder, but not better. It loses some of the low end rumble and is a bit annoying. And you'll be running too lean.
