I checked the air filter today and the whole bottom of the filter is soaked in fuel. In the past it has been wet but not soaked. Just want to know if this is normal? It is on a 2000 883. I believe the carb is all orginal. Any and all input is welcom.
It is gas. Do u think i should rebuild it. I am the third owner and i know the second owner never touched it. The bike has 7500 miles on it.
Have you checked your spark plugs to be sure there burning the fuel?May just need a tune up.
I would start by replacing the air filter and plugs. If that don't work you may just need to remove the carb and clean it.If its been sitting alot the stale gas will cause a lot of issues. If this is the case i would drain and rinse the tank with fresh 93 octane also. Here is a link to help you adjust the mixture etc. http://www.harley-performance.com/ha...arburetor.html
Try opening it up full throttle and burning out some carbon like i do when you get it tuned up lol!!
