Where do I buy a clutch cable for drag handlebars?
I have only been in this sport for a few weeks. I went to a local bike shop to order a new cable for my bike. I wont get into all the "stuff" that went down after he ordered me the wrong cable, but the owner did tell me shorter clutch cables for drag handlebars aren't "readily" available.
I have to question that last statement, which leads me to asking some of the professionals on this site: Where can I buy a clutch cable for my drag handlebars?
I previously measured my current cable for the local bike shop, walked inside, told him what length I needed and he ordered me a stock cable. I want a shorter cable, about 4" shorter than my current cable.

Preciate the website, I will check em out in just a few.
Yea, I aint sure whats up with the guy. A few good friends said they never had an issue with the fella/business. I have dealt with him on four occassions and he has acted like an azz hole everytime.
I guess he doesn't like my style...he can forget about getting anymore of my $$$.
I just ordered me a new cable. $80.xx with shipping and I got the 2" shorter that I desired.
I forgot to mention earlier that the owner/operator of the local bike shop repeatedly mentioned that a shorter than stock cable was gonna cost me about $300.

anyway glad you found what you needed
I was wonderin the same thing myself. I just calculated how much $ I spent with this clown in 4 visits: just a tad over $300.
Thats about $75/visit. I am sure that anyone owning a motorcycle accessory/repair shop would be thrilled if every customer spent $75 everytime they walked in the door.
I have only owned a bike for 2 weeks. If this sport turns out to be anything like fourwheelers, it only took me 2 years and I went through 12 fourwheelers. I was loyal to Arctic Cat and I spent over $26K from Feb 2010-Aug 2010.
Like I said earlier, I will take my $ to someone else.
Next time you need cables, wires, brake lines, etc. Give Dennis Kirk a try, they have a good technical assistance department that will help you identify what parts you need for your application, and they have pretty good pricing.
