I installed some quiet baffles and it did not quiet my V&H pipes like I wanted. The baffles came with insulation wrapped around 3/4 of the baffle. I removed them and insulated the rest of the baffle. This sounds a lot quieter idling and sounds good high RPMs.also bike runs good. My question am I possibly blocking exhaust by adding this additional insulation? If so will this damage engine? Thanks

No. If you think how much does OEM mufflers block the exhaust. Yours is now in good shape.
"It's an easy mod that can accomplish a couple of pluses other than just a quieter ride... it also gives the V&H a deeper rumble and a better air flow and back pressure. Go to www.mcmaster-carr and click on ceramic fiber, scroll down to silica fabric, and buy 1 foot of SKU 8799K3 @ $9.26 plus $4.39 shipping... total $13.65. The 1 foot is 3 feet wide so there is plenty of fabric to double wrap each baffle.
You can't just use fiberglass... it "wears" or "burns" out over time. The new ceramic silicas will last the lifetime of the bike and are easier to install."
I used the Quiet baffles also but it was still a little loud on long trips. It still had that drone sound. I added the "SmartPartz" baffles in addition to the V&H quiet baffles. Drone is gone which makes long trips nicer. It still gets loud if you get on it but it makes the bike nicer. You may lose a little power but to me it is worth it.....Just my two cents...
goinboardn - Did you get your cloth and get the baffles wrapped yet???
Curious as to your results as I just ordered form McMaster yesterday so i can try wrapping my V&H Staggered Big Shots that have the "standard" (straight through - not the quiet baffle) in them.
