check it with clutch hot.
if it is ok , your good to go ,..

btw there is no way a clutch does damage to tranny, only the rider can..
What I meant was that if his clutch is not fully disengaging, and he stomps the shifter into the next gear, that can definitely put way more shock on the gears than normal, which could in turn damage the transmission.

The clutch cable needs adjusting. That is not a symptom of a clutch out of adjustment

About three weeks ago I started having issues with my clutch. At a stop light it would grab, even when fully squeezed. In the upper gears when I got on it, the clutch would slip. I tried adjusting the clutch and cable but the problem persisted. I ended up taking it in to the dealer and they said that the clutch spring had broken and damage some of the clutch plates. Needless to say, I ended up with a whole new clutch pack. It was still under warrantee thank God.

This is unlikely the OP's problem, but just the same... it's a good idea to get rid of the stupid 'spring plate' and put in an extra clutch plate and couple of steels to avoid this issue. The spring plate is not only useless, it is the weakest link in the stock clutch system and can cause damage when it lets go.
