+1 on the fork nut socket. Easiest way to do the springs is remove the front wheel and pull fork tubes out completely. As long as you are in there, I would do a complete fork rebuild. All new OEM seals and bushings aren't super expensive on top of the springs and it's not a tough job. About three hours to rebuild the first fork, twenty minutes for the second. If you really want to limit the front end dive, refill with SE racing fork oil. None of my local dealers stock it but they were happy to order some for me when they ordered the seals and such that they didn't have in stock.
