Had the HD QD 18 inch brain scrambler and replaced with Slipstream Spitfire S-06 smoked. Cost less then 60 bucks and does a great job. Takes the wind off your chest and doesnt have much buffeting if any and is extremely adjustable. HD i bought was $350 bucks this one was 30 with a Amazon discount. In this case smaller is better. Can remove in 30 sec or less as well.
I have a Memphis Shades Del Ray. I think it works great for me. Provides ample chest fatigue relief with no buffeting. Of course each person is different and each bike is set up a different way. If my handlebar/riding position was a bit different I may get different results.
Either way here is a pic of my scoot with the windshield.

I have a National Cycle plexi fairing I use for long hauls works freat, no buffeting. It has lowers included also. The only thing I dont like is that it is freaking HUGE.
I second that. I also have the spitfire smoked windshield. It was 50 bucks and works like a champ. I would agree that it may not work so great on all set ups. I like how easy it is to take off with just two wing nuts.
My ride origionally had a HD sport shield but to me it was not enough, too small.
I bought the HD laergest shield available. I trimmed the shield to fit around the aux lights and added vinyl to the lower surfaces, filler plate around the headlight and a glove box. Regreatably my mods due to the aux lights were not the best but as I use the bike daily and to me it pays for itself with great riding to 130 KPH without problems (I only ride over 120 - 65MPH if I need to blow off someone).
At 54 I wanted a larger bike but as the price was $35K I could not afford the bigger rides.
To my supprise I am very happy with my SportGlide, baggs, luggage box, mud flaps & other stuff adds to the enjoyment and will keep it till I die.
Sorry if I look at Harley differently than you but in the middle east HD is VERRY costly ($35K Vs $7K) so you want the best and garage it except on the weekends, but that aint me!
I'm using the National Cycle Deflector Screen DX on my 1200C. Smaller size but it still takes the pressure off my chest and at least for me, that is enough to make the ride a lot more comfortable. I can still feel the wind on my shoulders but I don't feel like a sail. Quickly removable (30 seconds) and the size doesn't look bad at all. Also on the days I ride with sunglasses instead of a face shield, I don't get the tearing in my eyes.
