that would be more help than you know, normally if you were local, i would buy you beer, the wiring diagrams i find online are way too fuzzy to make sense of the wiring colors, i found a diagram online that says there should be a red wire, i'll keep digging for it

i dug a little deeper, and discovered that the speedo wires were not in the main wiring loom, but it had it's own. so now the speedo is attached and working!
