Pipe burns.
I keep rubbing the heal of my shoe on the side of the pipe.
It is only about an area about six inches long.
Does anyone make a heat shield that bolts on in some manner
or is wrapping the pipe the only way to do it??

Got home and realized my pants leg had blown up between the heat shield and the pipe---silver dollar size hole in the new jeans--guess my pants were that "pretty stinkin trash"

Pyrogel is rated for 1200F so I do not know yet how long it will last - it has tanned on the pipe side after 3 days. Do not have a thermometer to measure the temp's yet. Cost was low $35 for a 12" x 12" sheet that is just enough for both shields. I plan to put another layer under the cylinder end (upward) section vs putting any under the front cylinder shield which is not near my leg.
BTW, I found my rear stock pipe belt/engine case holding bracket cracked through. I have seen a few other posts on this. I plan to put some of the Pyrogel under its connecting pipe clamp to absorb some of the vibration & heat for a fix. I saw a post that said this bracket/clamp is needed to keep header bolts from loosening. Anyone know if the clamp is really useful?
