This seems like a common issue, I am pretty sure that the gasket has never been changed on my bike. Is the stock gasket a paper gasket? if I go to a rubber/silicon gasket will this solve the leak issue? Thanks.

Which cover is leaking?
Can you post a pic?
Sportys are kinda famous for the primary inspection window and the shifter rod to seep a bit.
The derby cover is a rubber gasket on the later models.
its the shifter side, the primary cover, it leaks out from the bottom center.... i cant post a pic cause im at work, but it only leaks when the bike runs or just after running, if its sitting, its clean as a whistle...another thing, is the bike clicks after being ran and shut off, is that normal? it a consistent click that happens until the bike cools off, I am assuming.....

The ticking post shut off is totally normal.
From bottom center...sounds like you need to either:
Replace your derby cover gasket.
Remove your primary drain plug (if its coming from the plug), change out the fluid, and reinstall the plug with teflon tape on the threads to seal the threads to the case.
First thing is to find where the leak is coming from.
Clean off all the fluid with dish soap and hot water, than ride it once or twice around the block, get down there with a flashlight and find out exactly where the leak is originating.
I attached a picture that I found on the internet and circled where the leak is coming from. I have cleaned it up and ride it to find the leak, this is were it is building and dripping from the bottom, between the cover and the case.

I don't have that cover on my case...but I'm guessing that you will need to drain the primary, then remove that cover and replace whatever gasket may be there.
huh? this cover looks like its off an older sporty, but you have a cover similar to this where the shift shaft comes out, the derby cover attaches....its a crappy picture i know, sorry.
My case looks like this, only two removable plates, the primary inspection cover (small one near the top) and the derby cover, which is the larger, round one. Just to get our terms straight, the CASE is black in the picture below, and the COVERS are chrome...
