New Bars...Thottle issues
soooo just changed my bars on my 95 from those horrid buck horns to drag bars. everything went good on the install except when i sat on the bike and i played with the controls a little and noticed my throttle is supper tight and it sticks. I opened up the throttle housing and didn't see anything, everything looked lined up, then worked my way down no hard turns, and then kind of checked out the throttle body at the carb. nothing looked to bad or out of place. stuck... need help any help would be greatly appreciated.
I threw drags on my 2000 and the ssame thing happened, I moved the throttle cables around at the bottom of the throttle, and then it worked normally. Make sure the cables are not binding on anything. There is a hook/guide that the cables run through that is mounted on the forks. Make sure the cables are taken out of that hook/guide. Thats what I had to do anyway
Yes, definitely check the thumblock as well as the entire length of the cable to ensure its not binding from bending too tightly somewhere.
Loosen the throttle housing screws a bit and see if its still tight, if that solves the issue, its a fit issue with the throttle cable cam in the housing.
