Enjoying ur thread. How did the alloybolts kit work out? Do u feel they are a good investment and cosmetic improvement? Thanks....
Ergo and I both used the same kit. Don't know about his, but my cadmium hardware was really crusty looking...really detracted from the looks of the bike overall. Good investment from my perspective.
In the FWIW column
I swapped out most of my bolts as well, but went with stainless steel after trying some chrome bolts. I gave up on chrome because of this pic.
As Rick and hog have both said, the stainless bolts seem to be the way to go for a durable and good looking finish. I haven't installed mine yet...waiting until I refinish the engine. But I believe the stainless bolts will be a good investment.
There was a post on xl forums where the guy took apart his nightster, drilled holes in his frame and ran all the wires through the back bone. It looked sooo clean. Just an idea. Your bike is looking GREAT!
that is cosmo kramer and i believe he comes on this forum every now and then. he did an awsome job on his bike and is extremely helpful, especially with electrical issues.
haven't you finished yet???u been slacking? i find that if the chrome bolts are new n u put girls nail varnish (the clear ****) in the top after it been tightened up it stops em rusting.it also cracks out easyish if u wanna undo the bolt for any reason.....
