Don't you know that in the zombie apocalypse only vintage Triumphs will work?
That's a nasty rumor with no basis in reality, Wakko. The fact is, Harley's will work just fine during a zombie apocalypse. Sporty's even better. Don't believe everything you see on tv, man. sheesh
Here's what I got for the wire wrap. You can order by the foot and it's pretty inexpensive. This is rated to 125 degrees C - so I figured it should be ok as long as it's not right up against the motor: http://www.cableorganizer.com/woven-wrap/?gcssku=RDT075
Excellent! Thanks Midlife. I'm gonna check this out.
Well, thanks to your build thread I was able to find Mr. Mreed's air cleaner thread and will be building my new A/C very shortly. One of many projects to come. The wiring sounds like it is shaping up nicely. I looked at the wire mesh... curious how it will hold up at highway speed if exposed. It looks clean though. And thats what zip ties are for. Cannot wait to see your rattle can paint idea. I keep seeing very small very thin orange scallops outlined in gray reaching below the solid paint line on the tank when I picture your bike in my head.

Good luck with the mreed A/C. I think it's a great solution. And my next order will be for some of that wire mesh.

So I got the wires redone and it turned out good. I'll zip tie it in a couple of unobtrusive places that will pull it in even tighter, and then I'm gonna try the wire mesh over the whole thing. We'll see how it looks.
So I threw the tank and seat on to see what it looks like so far. The tank paint is just a mock up but it's generally how I think it's gonna go. I'll probably bring the line of orange down slightly on the tank to give the orange a bit more exposure from the side. I don't know. Still kicking ideas around. Gonna do the same grey pin stripe between the orange and black, same as on the stock Nightster paint job. And there will probably be some lettering on each side in the same Nightster font, but I'm gonna save that as a surprise for later. The rear fender will have a similar orange pattern as the tank but I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.
I also have an idea for the side covers but I'm gonna keep that one to myself until it's ready for the road...
