Thanks scald. I wish we had more time. Lots of ideas, but, I wanna ride at some point and Ozzie just has way too much on his plate. He's got four or five bike projects going right now, plus mine, and two of those are his bikes. He's putting them off to finish mine, which means he's got nothing to ride right now either. So apart from the exhaust and finishing up the bars, we're pretty much done with the complex mods.

Here are some pics of the painted rear fender bracket with the LED tail light installed. It's not wired up yet, and the fender still has to be painted but this is how it will look.

The LED light bar is a red running light, red brake light and amber turn signals, all in one strip. The turn signals will supplement the bar end signals that will flash to both front and rear. I love the way this set up looks. When not illuminated it's almost unnoticeable standing next to the bike, but the LED is plenty bright when it's on and will be clearly visible to motorists to the rear.

Just thought of something. Wonder if it would look alright to put a LED strip on the rear of my struts for run/turn/brake...though it sounds kind of stupid.

Well, anything's doable. You'd have to find the right configuration of LED's. My strip is 6" long. It's a running light (continuous red), a brake light (bright red) and turn signals (when the turn signal is activated the right or left half of the strip blinks amber). You wouldn't want that on each strut. But I'm guessing you could get two strips without the amber turn signal feature and wire them so that they function as running, brake and turn signals similar to the Nightster stock set up.

Not sure how that would look though.

Thanks very much Jake and welcome to the world of Sportster modification. Poach away, man. That's what this thread is for.

I am trying, street. It feels like we're getting close but there's still the two major components to finish - bars and exhaust...

How can it not be riding season in Houston?? It's always riding season in Houston.
