Might want to jack rear wheel, remove plugs put it in upper gear and turn wheel to make sure engine has not frozen up. Make sure the oil looks OK, battery is charged good, new gas and a good choke. See if it will fire up and see what it sounds like. Waste of time to do anything else since who know what you will need to do. Go from there.
More sage advice but small problem with that..... I have rear wheel but no axle....i can try putting it in gear and trying to rotate chain....best I can do as far as that goes for now
Hey I have a question.....No Suprise there.....lol the guy I got the bike from is a certified Motorcycle mechanic from MMI and he said something about I would have to rehone the cylinders to remove any varnish.....how can I tell if this is really necessary like grf000 said "Waste of time to do anything else since who know what you will need to do".....Please be patient with this NEWB I beg of y'all
Rehone the cyclinders to remove varnish? Don't think so. If you have varnish it will be in the carbs unless they left a full fuel tank and the carb was stuck open and it filled the crank and cylinders with gas. At that point you would need a complete rebuild.
Buy a shop manual on Amazon, I just got one for $30 or so. I don't do the cd thing because I don't like to take the laptop out to the shop and fiddle with greasy fingers. Of course the same could be said about spoiling a shop manual but if its was that big a deal I would copy the pages I required. Get a good bike lift also.
If I were you I would jumper the beast off a car battery to turn it over. If you can get her running then get some tires etc... I have a 1957 Crusader sitting in my garage in about the same condition. Have not started it yet because once you start down that path it tends to get out of hand pretty quick but man its fun bringing a bike back to life.
Ok Did A quick clean on the engine...BTW its out of the frame lol and tried to crank it via starter.......Not so good results the drive sproket turned about 1/8 of the way and that's it....grrrrr I pulled the plugs and as you can see they are blacker then the oil that's in it....Oh yeah the bike decided to "mark its territory" when removed from the frame......lol
Is there anything I can do without pulling the heads to free the pistons ect up and get her to at least crank?

I suppose since you are just now seein the groos plugs you made no attempt to lube the cylinders before cranking it?
lude the cylinders let it soak for a little while then a little more lube and try to crank it over without the plugs in. that way there is no compression on the engine and she can spin freely. try that first.

the lube is always a debate. I have always used wd-40 or pb blaster or a product called "break-free" but yes oil will work. as car as brand that doesn't matter you just going to burn it up anyway.
the engine is mostly the same. the piston has to come up but ick or rust will stop it.. and the start may not be able to rotate it. maybe you can turn it over by hand or something. like a socket on the main sprocket.
Ok cool the rear piston is partially up when I put the plug upside down to take pic it did not seat fully like the front did...I'm hoping thats a good sign....I will definately let you know.....ty for your help once again I know it must be aggravating dealing with a neb but I appreciate your patients and help!

I'm by no means a pro. I learn from mistakes and trial and error to be honest. Just telling you my mistakes so you don't end up doing the same lol
