Default Idiot Lights-Permanent Removal .. Any Issues?

I plan to eliminate the idiot lights with a transformation of my 1996 Sportster. The wiring will be terminated neatly, so I see no reason why this will create any electrical or ignition problems. Just curious who else has done this or had issues as a result. Thanks

I have considered this years ago, but to me that green neutral indicator is a MUST. I don't recommend this mod.

Good point, however, that damn thing never works half the time on my Ultra, so I'm used to riding without it.

I should also note that my state does not require turn signals … so they are going away and no need for idiot lights.

I plan to install an oil pressure gauge … no need for idiot light.

I ride with my high beam on … no need for idiot light.

What happens if you ride to a state that does require turn signals?

go for it ..
We rode for years without any "idiot" lights.
you can "see if it is high or low beam.
you know when it's in neutral. revs , but no-go
dont even need oil pressure on that "sportie" lifters will tell you about it .

kinda llike a "tach" on a sportie..no need wont over-rev , just vibrates to the next gear
darned sure dont need turn signals , no-body see's em anyway .

the only thing I would leave alone is the windshield wipers

You made my beer come out of my nose, I totally agree.

I have always wondered why do you have to have signal indicators when you can see the signals.

Some states require the high beam blue light indicator to function in order to pass inspection. If you were inclined to get inspected, that is....

The PC term is Dummy Lights, you don't want to affend any idiots. My dirt bike doesn't have any. But then again when you kick it in gear and fall over I guess you look like an idiot. I hold the clutch in when I start mine just as a habit "dirtbike". You could just rock it back and forth to check for nuetral.
