Don't have one on my sporty but when I had my 82 gold wing I had one just like the one in your photo...
Worked great deflected wind off legs, hands and upper body. Was nice in rain and cold. Was great for touring.
Now that I'm a little older 52 now, 49 when i got rid of the wing and got the sporty I went the other way and just have a fly screen...second childhood I guess.
They work great, I have one, it came with the bike, The only time I used it was when I rode from Savannah to Ft. Bragg. I works great at keeping the wind off you. I may use it when I get back for riding in the winter but in the summer I don't use it. One thing though don't use any rain-x type products on it because it will ruin it.
Yeah I read booklet and no alcohol or ammonia products. And we didn't **** on the floor. It's my buddies garage and somehow water gets in during heavy rain and settles in that low spot. And can talk to his wife about why her car is outside and our bikes are inside. Thanks for comment on bike,I really like it and after today I took for a short ride in 31 degree weather and the windshield does the job. there are a couple down sides.
