What a great write up, thank you.

I bought a 2017 Iron 883 today, and this conversion has tremendous appeal.

How much street manners do you sacrifice when going from an 883 to a 1200/1250?

How much smooth idle quality do you loose?

Roadster is cool, but I still prefer the look of the Iron. It was the Olive Green paint on the Iron that sold me. That was a must have.

I do like the dual disc front brakes on the Roadster. A conversion sounds easy, but aren't the forks different on the Roadster vs. the Iron?

different forks, whole other can of worms with 2014 2015.5+ irons anyway

Used Nightster is hard to beat IMHO. I love 'most' of their color schemes too...
