different forks, whole other can of worms with 2014+irons anyway
Just as I suspected.
Can anyone explain why the Roadster got dual discs, while other 1200's did not?
I own several bikes, but have no experience with Sportsters. Can anyone comment on the braking performance of a single caliper Sportster (883 or 1200)?

Thanks
because hd is a gaggle jerks that like doing rediculous things. The iron was dual disk ready up until 2013 2015.5/2016
the roadster has inverted fork like those on the xr1200x. The rest of the 1200s are the balloon tired models. I guess the hd gaggle of jerks feels that you dont need dual disks.
you can still do it, it will just take some work, new wheel (s), caliper, sliders etc...
I can lock my front wheel up on my single disc. Can't
get any better. Might be an advantage on a long mountain decent having less fade.
The roadster was dual disc till they quit making it. I don't believe the iron came that way..Could have been ready to add one though. When the roadster came back in 2016 it was dual disc as well.
Slight correction - either "thru 2013" or "until 2014"...
...snippage....
Thinking about this, I'm not sure I've heard anyone with a 2014-2015
specifically say whether their wheel is "ready" (drilled w/cover plate)
for dual discs. I 'think' I've read where the 2016 Iron wheel was
not pre-drilled w/cover...

right, when they "redesigned" the iron, they removed the dual disk wheels...
foot in my mouth, looks like that was 2015.5/2016+
