This bike pulls to the right when moving. The alignment has been an issue since I took delivery of the bike in '05. It's been to several Harley mechanics for front end work. Triple tree adjustments, handle bar replacement etc. Nothing has fixed the problem. Is this a problem with this year and model? and what can be done to make it right?
[QUOTE=rooti;9322524]I had an 05 also. Does it pull when coasting? Or does it pull just when throttling?
I would also suggest your rear alignment. Very easy to make a measuring devise out of a wire coat hanger.
If it is pulling when just when accelerating, I would loosen the belt. The dealers always seem to overtighten it.
It is always out of alignment, even when I'm standing still. I don't recall them working on the rear axel or belt. I will say that when I'm sitting still the handle bars are crooked when i line up the front wheel.
Thanks for the replies. This is my first time on any forum and i'm running into technical difficulty navigating the matter. Anyway, I don't recall any work being done to the back end. The bike is out of alignment at all times. Even when I'm standing still, the handle bars are crooked if I straighten the front wheel. Would you give me some detail on squaring the rear axel?
From what your explaining it sounds like the handle bars are crooked. Does the bike track straight when riding. (the bike not the handle bars) Are you getting vibrations when on the road?
Sounds to me like the previous owner tipped it over and tweeked the handlebars. (look at the tip of the clutch and brake handle for scrapes, that's a sign its been down) Buy a cheep handlebar and try switching it out. Another thing you can try is to loosen the handle bars and risers and retorque the risers then the handlebars.
I bought the bike new. I had the handle bars replaced. It pulls to the right when I'm moving. The right side handle bar is about 1 inch off set toward me, wether I'm moving or standing. The front end has been torn apart and put back together and no change occurred.
You've put up with this for 7 years? I would either have another dealer look at it or demand the original dealer buy it back from you....Have you kept all your documentation? Lemon law?
Obviously the warranty has been exhausted. I'd rather eat the bike than pursue the matter through the court system. I was just curious if anyone had heard of this situation before. I appreciate your input. I'm planning on doing a short-chop on the bike this spring. I'm thinking if I replace everything the problem is sure to be resolved. Thanks for your time.

Hi, I have a 06 Custom and I run with a throttle lock hands free all the time the bike runs true. I wonder if there is a slight twist somewhere in that frame , because with all the work already done on the front end You can only look back ..Wvleo
