Opinions are like butholes (everyone's got one) so here's another one, take your muffs off, install lollipops far enough forward you can plug the hole with a short bolt and put the mufs back on if it does'nt work out. You will need at least one inch or inch and a quarter solid lollipops to restore the back pressure you lost by removing the muffs. Wala! Poor mans short shots. Don't be afraid to experiment, have fun.

My bikes a 1200 48. Thanks.
Bike will have no back pressure and run like S!#T ... but good luck with that.

After a lot of reading on several forums I'm going to try this way. I think there are waaaaaaay too many people who are too quickly to spout off with "you won't have any mid-range power, it'll sound like ****"etc. who have never even dealt w/this situation. Not pointing fingers @ anyone here cuz I don't know who's really tried it & who's just spouting off! I read some dyno reports w/drags( with & w/out 'lollipops')& from what I've read most of these spouters are incorrect. No it's not as much HP as 2 into 1's BUT I really, really don't like that look(crotch rocket looking) and I refuse to dump that much coin into a set of pipes. If anyone has done this I'd like to hear your experienced opinion. This will be just till my old lady lets me buy some good pipes, not forever.

I think it looks cool. I have seen it in person on some cool rat/bobber sporty, but I didn't hear it....even saw it in the horse mag. Looks old school when wrapped.

Thanks for that input. I haven't really been able to 'foresee' the look of it. I'm gonna see if I can find some pic's.

Just get some torque cones or lollipops to put in the pipes so you can have some back pressure.

Why ask for an opinion then trash the advice that you are given? So just keep going to different doctors until you find one that tells you what you want to hear … live and learn.

I back it man. Do what you want! I think they look cool and if you can make it work and add mounts and some back pressure that's awesome! Seriously, the last thing this forum needs is another nightster, iron or 48 with short shots!

I was looking more for fact(real experience) than opinion. I guess I should have been more clear. My fault. I know liking a particular look or sound can be of varying opinions but I was hoping for more descriptive perception than crap or ****. Like deeper, raspy, pops, screeches, lopes, rattles, words like that. Guess I'll try it & see what MY opinion is on it.
