Bike will have no back pressure and run like S!#T ... but good luck with that.
I'm assuming you've tried it? Did you try it w/'lollipops' or torque cones? I don't hear people saying that their bike has no backpressure & runs like crap because of their SikPipes. Same concept. I think they'd of been out of business if this was the case.

I've owned a number of bikes and several Sportsters. My experience with Sportsters is they suffer on the torque curve with drag pipes vs. stock exhaust or a 2 into 1 system or low restriction mufflers. What you are considering takes it a step further. It's a 10 minute job to pull the mufflers. So give it a try and see what happens. I strongly doubt it, but maybe you will prove me wrong.
I don't like the look, and the front header does need a bracket, but if you dig the looks, the TT's will give you good low & mid range power with them.
With just straight headers the low & mid will suffer (not opinion) but seat of the pants dyno AND actual dyno #'s.
Torque cones do not do enough...tried those many time, and they are a pain to install.
Lollipops are hit and miss on how effective they will be. I have made hundreds of different lollipops over the years. Actually got it down to a pretty good science.
The Thunder Torque Inserts are tweaked, tested, refined lollipops. The size, shape, type of material and type of coating DO make a difference.
For your headers on your 48 the W118's and the W158's will make about the same low & mid range torque. The 158's will be a little quieter and will drop your top end 2-4%. The 118's will not drop your top end and will give you more low and mid range than the headers AND than the stock pipes!
Here is a dyno chart showing what a difference the TT's make.
I dont think they run like ****..........not that I notice anyway. But I have seen many dyno charts that show that huge dip between 1500 and 2500 rpm. I think thats where some (if not many) comments come from. Same with the 2-1 guys, the dynos definitely show an advantage over stock or drag type pipes. The advantage is usually 2-8 HP...........I cant feel that (guess Im insensitive) .........and I didnt get my bike for performance. The thing with Kevins thunder torques is that they are very inexpensive, so for a few bucks Ill get those just for piece of mind knowing that dip is gone.
No doubt, stop listening to opinions and give it a shot with DK's TTs and good wrap with your home made bracket. Much cooler than ordering a $300+ box of parts. Maybe Nash has some data on their pipes to compare.
I don't think it looks all that good or all that bad with just the head pipes. As far as sound goes you will love it if you like loud. I have no baffles in my Martin Bro's pipes and love it! My PC III is tuned for the pipes and AC, but I lost very little low end going to open pipes and gained some mid and top. I say try it out-you can always change it. Like was said the only bad thing is the head pipes will only be help on by the flang bolts so you will want to keep an eye on them.
There are sop many guys on here that hate loud pipes, I am not one of them-Open pipes forever!!!!!!!!!!!

I tried it on my bike, You will loose all your bottom end torque/power. It sucks. And it just sounds like ****. I got a set of drag pipes and the sound is way better, but still no back pressure, I am working on that;..
I really fail to see how they are any different than any other drag pipe that doesn't use stepped header technology. ...and sound is completely subjective. Did you bother to try them with TT inserts?
no, I just ran them straight, I can see your point as well, but there was a huge difference in the sound quality from running the straight header and drag pipes. Maybe it has to do with the Diameter or length of the pipe?
