This may be stupid, may be cool. I don't know & that's why I'm asking! Has anybody removed they're stock slip-ons & ran just the header pipe? I guess it'd be similar to a set of short drags but don't know enough about the stocks pipes. Is there enough support w/out the stock slip-ons? Sound? I kinda wasted mine by trying to drill them out. My bikes a 1200 48. Thanks.
I did it on my 48 for about an hour. I thought it looked cool but because the stock pipes brace up at the muffler the headers are only attached at the exhaust ports it sketched me out a little. They also needed something for back pressure. I only did it to see what it would look like when I was changing out my stock pipes.
Don't do it, it will ruin your low and midrange torque. You can find drag pipes for like 60 bucks and add some lollipop monster baffles if you want it loud
LOL...I'd get some DEI Ti. header wrap and some DK torque inserts and rock em on out. Put that $300 toward AC & tuner.
Ha!!!! That looks like all those are is stock headers + a bracket for each. I can easily make a bracket! I already have aftermarket A/C & don't think I need a tuner. Thanks for the link!
