If you don't want her to be louder than you don't buy Vance & Hines.My pipes are louder than my wifes and she has SEII's with the baffles removed.Mine does set off car alarms though.Mine barks quite well on decel also.I have straight shots.

I couldn't find a price at Rush. How much are they?
Your dealer can order them for you, They list at $270 (?). Sometimes a discount can be had on them. I have them on my Deluxe and have them still in the box for my wife's Sporty. I cannot wait to get them on her bike but she has set her bike down a couple of times (rookie rider) on low speed manuvers. With crash bars the pipes take the brunt of the damage. But i digress.
Everyone seems to really like the way they sound. I have a couple of friends that heard mine and ordered a set.

I installed CycleShack Slip ons (taper cut) on my 06 883L Good pipes for the price. I was able to order them online, $119 including freight. I recently finished the Stage 1, but I ran for around 4,000 miles just with the slip ons. They sounded pretty good to me. At first they were a bit tinny, and raspy sounding, but after a few hundred miles of carbon build up they mellowed out nicely.

Now, after the Stage 1 I did a week or so ago. They sound AWESOME!!!

I have Screamin Eagles on my XL883C with a Stage 1. Boy, are those pipes loud! In town folks on the sidewalk, 25/30 yds ahead of me, are turnin round to see whats making the noise. If it's true that loud pipes save lives these will do the job [sm=smiley20.gif].

Vance & Hines Straightshots slip-ons with the optional 'quiet baffles'.
Loud, but not obnoxious, with a nice, deep, percussive sound. And no re-jetting or anything required with this setup.

We put Cycle Shack slip ons on both our Sporties. She has slash cut and I have turn-outs. The slash cuts are louder but mine have just a hint more low rumble (bass tones). Both are good quality Harley sounds.

There are certainly some better options available but for the money, its hard to beat these for overall performance, sound quality, and volume.

I keep my stock mufflers in a box tucked away (just in case). You never know when you might want or need to put your stock mufflers back on. I considered punching the baffles but then I would have to jump through flaming hoops to get some replacement (unmodified) stock mufflers to defend a fix-it ticket. So I looked at picking up a set of take-offs from Ebay or other source. Decided against it. For a few dollars more I can get a new set of CS slip ons.

With the CS slip ons I get volume, a little performance boost, and the piece of mind knowing I have the originals in the garage for a rainy day.

bensonjv went the right route! Cycle Shack made the Screamin Eagle mufflers for HD. Buy the CS ones & save around 100 bucks, only difference is they don't have the Screamin Eagle logo IMO they look better without it.

Do the a/c and carb rejet, and the Cycle Shacks will give you a LOT more than a "little performance boost."

I have the SE11's on mine that I got at discount from the dealer and for me they sound fine but I'm sure there are others that are just as good if not better.
