Default Passenger comfort?

How comfortable is a passenger on a Sportster? I am going to be adding a bike this spring. I would like it to be a 1200 Sportster, but am not sure how comfortable the passengers area is. We will be doing most of our riding on the Ultra, but I do not want to buy a bike that my wife will not ride on. My other choice is a Super Glide.
Those of you who ride two up on a Sporty, let me know what your passenger thinks of the bike.

Depends on the seat, backrest, your size, and her size as well as how far you intend on riding.
A sporty is about the only bike I dont or havent had in my garage. But I am too big (IMHO) and my wife rides her own most of the time.

Most girls have told me it is about 30-60 minutes before they need a break on my bike. It's solid-mounted, with a HD Pillow 2-up seat and sissy bar.

Back in the early 90's my wife rode on the back of my 79 ironhead for 1000s of miles. She never complained once.

In 94 we rode from Reno to Sturgis (1200 miles) on it. We were planning on riding my 71 FX but it was in pieces in the garage. A short sissy bar with pad made all the difference.

The seat on the bike will tell you how far she will be able to go.

My daughter said she's ready for a break after a couple hours, but for her, a break is a little walk and something to drink, and we're on again. She can outlast me... I have a soft aftermarket seat, lot's of those to choose from, and aftermarkets shocks that probably give a softer ride; there's something like 5 settings on the shocks. I'd say the most important thing would be getting a newer rubber mounted engine sporty; the only real complaint I have about my '00 883 is having to hold the speed down 'cause the vibration really kicks in around 65, and I'm a fan of 75 - when I'm not in a hurry.

Mustang Wide Touring seat, detachable tall sissy with pad, and RK shocks is the formula that works for me and my passenger. All day comfort.

Well it won't be her first choice certainly. It just does not make sense to buy one she can't ride on.
