Default Heavy breather question....help

hey guys, trading bike in and trying to tkae off the harley heavy breather of my 2011 harley sportster 48.. i thought i would be one two three. basically i took off the screws to get the elbow off, im trying to get the actually part off now that bolts onto the heads... there are two chrome caps that i have been messing around with and cannot figure how to get off, im guesing once i get these caps off there should be a bolt behind each of them so i can finally get this thing off... i tried to pull the caps off with a screwdriver and nothing. thanks in advance

Those metal caps are held in by an o ring that fits in the bore. Not sure how to get them out I haven't had to yet on my bike.

I've popped mine off before just using a flathead screwdriver. Stuck it in the side and turned forcing that side out, held it and did the same moving around the cover. The o rings got tore up in the process but no damage to the actual parts, and replaced o rings for 2 bucks at lowes or harley carries them. Once the caps are off you'll remove the breather bolts behind them and it'll be off.

I used a high strength smaller screwdriver so it would help to get under the caps and a small black taped piece of wood to keep from prying aginst anything. Plus I tried to cover anything that might get scratched with cloth. Better safe than oops!
