I'm not looking forward to trying to build a set of pipes. A set that would not leave power on the table would be my goal and I like the crossover on Vance & Hines Widow XR 2-1-2 part# 47537. Anybody got any idea what kinda mods it would take to make it fit my 1999 1200 heads?

Are the ports on the XR different than production rubbermounts? I'm running Sideshots made for the rubbermount on my '96 883, I just had to make a rear bracket...not sure if that helps any...

That's exactly what I wanted to hear! I think the XR1200 heads flow better, but that's prolly it and should mount the same

Painting base & top coats on frame & fender this weekend, so assembly will start in earnest in September and riding season starts in October down here cuz it's too hot to ride now!
Looks nice...with regards to wrapping the exhaust, make sure it's made from thick enough tubing. The pipes I have were cracked pretty bad in numerous places from someone wrapping them. Fortunately I was able to weld them up and grind them smooth (it's all covered by the heat shields anyway).
Here's a copy of it with the pipes on...the air cleaner has been swapped for a Forcewinder XR which really flows well with the pipes:

So far so good. Chain line looks good as long as it doesn't hit the oil tank. Had to move the battery box over a little to make room for the chain, but that wasn't any big deal cuz there's lots of room there...
