Talking Blinker Install

Hey guys. I'm new here and just signed up today. I bought my 2008 883 Low last night and it will be ready for pickup Tuesday. They have to do the PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and had to purchase and install my new speedo. Now, the bike does not have any blinkers as well. I'm going to purchase some bullet matte black blinkers and I'd like to buy the rubber fork boots (these can wait). As far as the blinkers go, because I'm a new owner I need to purchase a lot of start up gear, how hard is the install if I buy them and get them going with a little help from a friend? SO excited for this new venture and I've wanted a Harley for YEARS! Hope to meet you all soon and looking forward to learning a lot from you guys....thank you in advance!

nice, welcome, where in OC are you from? I grew up in Yorba linda, anyhow, it is going to depend on how the previous owner removed the blinkers. If they were unplugged it should not bee to Bad, But if the were cut, your going to have to attach new wires and run them to the new blinkers.....

Thank you and from what I was told, they weren't just un-plugged :-x I'm from South County (Dana Point) but the bike is in Temecula getting finished up. Is this a DIY job (I've worked on cars and have a lot of friends in the industry) even if the wires were cut? Also, on the right side of my bike....the belt guard I think it's called? I have a money $ sign that I hate. I want to black all of that out as well as the primary cover. My question is - is taking off just that small piece of it a pretty big hazard? Sorry if this question is just plain dumb but I'm a serious newbee! I'll post a pic to show you what I mean...

Great! So no problem with just the Money$ sign part.....that'll be the first thing I do! Thank you so much for that, I thought I was stuck with it until I bought a replacement! This is great news haha!
