So I'm thinking and been looking for a small windshield or flyscreen for my 05 1200C.
I'm not a real fan of windshields, and coming from an XB9SX Buell, the flyscreen idea isn't bad.
I've looked at the SwitchBlade shorty and deflector from National Cycle with quick release/mount, but don't quit like the size.
I do however like the Flyscreen LS from National cycle, but think its to small/short to make any difference.
Not so much for wind protection but more so from eating bugs and getting my face sandblasted. Although mind you according to some that may be a benifit in my case...the sandblasting that is....!!
So I'm looking for input, ideas, thoughts, exsperience...etc..etc...
And a few pics if ya got em....!!![sm=feedback.gif]
I just installed a standard size quick release detachable windshield and I LOVE IT.
.
I has made a HUGE difference
on the freeway, both the bugs and the wind blowing me around.
I do not like the look, but you can take it off easily and just use it on long rides.
There have been several posts at different times on buying standard size windshield and cutting it down to the size you want. Seems to be easy to do it, but I still wouldn't trust myself. One member said that he had an auto glass shop cut his down 3" for $15.00. Let us know what you decde to do. Art
My Ultra was in the shop last week for 7 days and I used a 1997 Sportster that my wife knew a friend had for sale and we put on 811 miles on that thing in 4 days(only rode it for 3)[8D]
It did not have a windshield but I did get a shield and put on my helmet.
I don't see how people can ride a bike at speed with out a windshield or some thing[sm=dontgetit.gif]
Go 60 MPH down the road and take a June bug in the face and you will change your tune about no windshield or a face shield on your helmet.
Rode tens of thousands of miles without windshield or face shield, now I have a detachable shorty, still don't like them but will use em on longer rides. Hey, after the first 50,000 or so you learn to dodge them bugs and get to know wich ones taste good.
