Talking Question's about lowering Nightster

I am running the stock fender, tires, rear shock on 09 nightster and i was curious if i could lower the bike anymore?
if i remember correctly there isn't much room between the tire and fender now. My wife rides with some times if i lowered it would it rub when we are 2up?

Take a little time to read through some of the recent shock threads. When your wife sits on the bike with your current shocks it is almost impossible to properly compensate for the extra, how shall I say this delicately, ahem - weight!

Also bear in mind that while you sit over the swingarm axle your wife will be right over the wheel axle, so her riding experience is not as good as yours. Short shocks and wife's are not a good combination! In the interests of domestic harmony, don't do it.....

Struts maybe the best option for looks and to guarantee you won't hit the fender.

Your passenger's butt will not thank you.

There is no way to run lower shocks on your bike and ride 2 up. I have the stock 11.75" shocks on my bike set on the softest setting and I would ride 2-up it would bottom out at times. Low bikes arer cool, but also solo bikes as well. Never run struts to ride 2-up as your wife will not have a back left after a few good bumps.

I am new to the Harley world so please bear with me with my stupid questions lol.

What would be a good shock and height for the bike for a comfortable ride. I manly ride solo but when she is on it I would like her to be comfortable as well.

I am running the 13" shocks off a touring bike with 1" lowering blocks. Keeps the stock height and riding 2-up we have never bottomed out. Ride is MUCH better.

it's all good...get some progressive 412's stock length and she'll be thanking you. they're fairly cheap and a seriously huge upgrade from stock.
