hey guys,
with limited options for better lighting, who has coughed up the $ for the OEM upgraded HD LED headlight?
i was going to put in aftermarket LED lights but they all look like crapola.
i generally just go right to HID on my cars, but with the harley only having a single front facing headlight i just dont trust it to not blow out and leave me with nothing. if i had a dual headlight i wouldnt hesitate to put in HIDS.
and dual headlight setups that fit and look good in the sporty? (doubt it.)
post pics, links and prices please.
otherwise ill cave and get the LED one..
i would love a headlight that looks like the OEM LED headlight but 1 bulb is HID in the projector and a secondary is a Halogen or a led bulb.
How about a 7" fatboy headlight from Drag Specialties! Don't remember the part #, but if interested I probably can find my receipt with the #. Comes in chrome. $75. I powder coated mine black and put a cat eye cover and powder coated that brass.
does it have 2 stand alone bulbs in it?
having no backup is just asking for trouble... i like the 1 low, and 1 for high... separate bulbs... or even 2 low and then add 1 for high would be ideal.
if i had the toold i would design my own headlights... theya re the biggest problem i have with every car i want lol
i guess my other question is i know the OEM LED one comes in black and chrome.
but if i get chrome adm i able to take it apart and put in a black insert or am i stuck with chrome?
nevermind... i just bought a H4 HID kit...
they are only $33 now with shipping, and i have like 4 spare ballasts so ill just throw a spare in my bag then pick up a spare HID bulb eventually.
i only needed it for the Hi/lo wiring harness... i actually think i have a few H4 single beam bulbs kicking around.
worst case, i hate it and i go buy that HD one so ill only be out $30.
i may try to get one of those retrofit projectors and put dual projectors into one of the HD housings.

ebay...i just got the cheapest one i could find.
with the exception of DOOP with a focusable HID bulb they are all the same, just the ballasts are different. i have a lot of higher end basalts, so if this one craps out ill put in a good one that i already have.
i may contact Doop and see if they have the H4 bi/xenon with a focus lens yet.... last i checked it was only a few single beam bulbs that had that option.
Ddm is a site sponsor on cadillac forum and they get great reviews, only problem ias their shipping prices to canada are insane. I wish their shipping was more reasonable... I haven't checked it in about a year though. I came across vvme.com with good shipping prices, and their products haven't let me down in about 2.5yrs.
