I recently bought my 96 XLH1200 and has a very small issue with a fuel leak at the side of the carb , if you remove the aircleaner and look at the right side it looks like it is coming from the the small shaft the runs thru it .
Is there a o-ring in there that if i rebuild the carb it will stop ?
it might have a drip ever minute or 2 or if i leave the fuel on over night there is a a small puddle right at the timing plug .
Thank you for any and all help
Rick
that sounds like the accelerator pump. might want to pull the bowl and see if the diaphram is ripped, letting gas get through or the bowl gasket is cracked.
The same thing came up last week, check your accelerator pump diaphragm, that's what the rod pushes on. Check the recent posts for pictures of the guy's carb as well. We solved his problem, we'll get yours too.
Thats exactly where mine is coming from ,, is this the right part #20721-82300
Mine is a Stock Harley carb thats been rejetted for V&H drags
KEIHIN ACCELERATOR KIT. This pump diaphram fits all 1976 up Keihin carbs and S&S E&G Carbs
i didn't see an accelerator pump diaphragm on that website, only the Stage 1 kit with jets and needle. Is there a rebuild kit offered? I may have missed it.
Just a heads up this did Fix my issue and i am still trying to figure out how my sporty even ran , there was a complete section of the diaphram that was torn completely around the metal disk .
But she is fixed and running like a new one
