Default Installing Torque Cones Question

Hello,

I just got a new set of drag pipes (long story), and I bought torque cones. The installation was easy except that I couldn't put both nuts on the front headpipe's flange. The added thickness of the torque cones wouldn't allow me to do so.

I'm concerned that having only one bolt in the front could become a problem down the road. And the other nuts wouldn't go in fully either.

What do you guys think?

Thanks,

Vincent

Default one bolt on exhaust ?

sounds like a lot of trouble down the road . that's a lot of stress on one stud , plus you will develop a major exhaust leak pretty quick . are you sure the cones are seated properly ?

put some baffles Or at least a lolly pop in those pipes for some back pressure.

I played with the torque cones for a while to make sure they were seating properly. Maybe I need to go back to it..,

I'd agree one nut is trouble down the road.

Can you install a longer threaded stud for the nut?
Can you machine the cone/ flange thinner?

Yes, play with the alignment make sure it is seated correctly.

Can I put a longer stud? I thought that would require to take the engine apart.

I don't have any machinery to make the cone or flange thinner. I don't even have a garage :-)

Did you fix your problem? I just installed drag pipes and torque cones with no issues like that.

also if youve only got one nut on then you will be leaking and burn your valve seat for sure.
