Default LA Choppers Outlaw z-bar

Hey,

I'm sure somebody here must have used one of these. I'm trying to figure out what to make of the taper toward the end of the bars. To me it looks kind of weird that it would taper into the controls like that, but maybe I'm reading the image wrong? So if somebody can enlighten me, that would be great.

Lick's version of these bars steps instead of tapers. Seems to make more sense to me?

Thanks...

It tapers to give the allusion of the Z on each side I think. I've seen these bars a couple times they look bad as hell. They are really fat and really sturdy. Having a little weight in the handle bars always gives me the feeling of control. What kind of bike do you have? If you like the Z bar style, like I do, those are the way to go they are on my wishlist when I upgrade to a newer bike.

I have a 2011 Iron. I do like the look, just not sure about the taper. As I said, the Licks Cycles variant steps and I find that somehow more apealing, but maybe people have different views.

Mine are stepped, I think a tapper would look funky.

Thanks!

BR Customs 1 1/2" Old School Z bar. I didnt like the rise and pullback of the available Z bars so I had him make some to my specs.

About half way down

Sorry I didnt answer your PM earlier. I haven't had them installed for a few months so I had to dig them up.

They dont actually "taper" - The photo provided makes it seem as if they "taper" because of the angle of the photo. The "taper" is actually the "pullback" so essentially if they are not mounted on the risers "level" then the 'pullback' with actually become a 'taper' .

Hope that makes sense.

On a side note. I have my Outlaw Z-Bars with the original switch housings still internally wired. Only thing they need are the connectors attached to the wires, installation of grips, clutch, and brake, master cylinder and you are good to go.

I paid $250 for the bars plus $600 for the internal wiring and $150 for new switch housings for a new set for my current set up. I'll sell them to you for $400 if you're interested. PM me and I can send you some photos if you want.
