Default Can NOT get the throttle adjusted

I noticed today the my throttle was a little sticky, so i tried to adjust it per the service manual, i spent about an hour and just CAN NOT get it to snap back, there is no binding anywhere that i can see, its an 09 custom, i dont think i have a bad cable..ive watched a few youtube vids too...to ME, it seems like the throttle grip itself my be bad...it that possable?...they are stock and the rubber seems kinda beat, i cant find anythig else..

have you kept up with the service of the cable (lube) and the throttle grip (graphite)?

Come to think of it...do you have the throttle lock to tight? Try loosing it. It;s by the grip...the little black plastic ****

You have to lube the actual throttle grip? Like where it meets the bar?

The other thing to check would be if it is binding up on the control housings themselves. Sometimes it just takes a little backing off of the screws and moving it around for it to work loose.

If it were binding up here it would not snap back no matter how the cables are adjusted/lubed. Just one more easy thing to check in case you haven't already...

Try only putting the screws in lightly and see if it fixes it. I know the way the wiring is and how tight those screws are takes a little finesse. It's different on each bike.

It is possible that the end of the grip is rubbing against the end of the bar. Try loosening the screws that clamp the brake lever to the bar and moving the entire assembly to the right a bit and see if that helps.

Check the throttle lock screw on the underside of the throttle grip housing. It has a little brake shoe on it that sets against the throttle grip housing. If it vibrated tighter it will cause your problem.

I've done that before, drove me crazy trying to figure it out. Now I slide on the controls until the inside of the grip hits the end of the bar, then back out 1/8" or so.
