Seems like its a toss up between the PV and PC. Gonna order the PV this morning, since it seems to be a bit more user friendly.

Gonna talk to the club wrench and see about that 883 gearing. How is the high end with that gearing? Is it more on the low end and less on the high? Or more low and same on high? The 883 sporty we have in the club can't keep up with the pack until we hit cruising speed, maybe due to the smaller engine (or maybe its just that his riding skills may suck).

Are you talking about the belt (or chain) final drive ratios (transmission output sprocket/rear wheel sprocket), or changing the primary chain drive ratios (crank sprocket/clutch basket) on the bike?

I don't think I've read about changing the primary chain ratios, but you're the racer, not me. I had no idea they were different, interesting. My FSM (1991) lists same ratio for both 883 and 1200. It also lists the transmission ratios the same, only difference is the final drive ratio.

On 2003 and older bikes they have the same primary gearing.

If you have a 2004 and up 1200 and want incredibly better acceleration this is a great thing to do. It will however raise your highway speeds rpms about 400-500 rpms so it you do a lot of freeway riding at speeds over 80 mph you might not like it.
Like they say, you learn something every day!
