Default Throttle response upgrade help

I keep getting mixed reviews from different shops and different people. I'm looking to do a small upgrade (something to increase my throttle response) without having to do an engine rebuild (don't have the time for something like that).

I was told to check out throttlepak (which apparently is for touring models), fuelpak, and power vision, just to name a couple. The most common suggestion was the power vision (coughing up $500 for it is acceptable if it is truly worth it).

My scoot is a 2012 XL1200C (fuel injected-obviously) and I have the V&H Big Radius 2:2 exhaust and the SE heavy breather kit.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Coming from actual Sporty riders, I would take yours opponions more seriously than non-sporty riders.

If your running a high flow exhaust and a high flow A/C kit, you NEED some sort of fuel management device.

I've used X14's by www.nightrider.com for a year when I just ran slip-ons and they were a good, cheap device to use. Ever since I added the SE A/C kit, I swapped out the X14's to the Fuelpak and have experienced great results. The X14's are about $100 and the FP is about $220 depending on who you get it through. I have heard great things about the Power Commander 5 and Power Vision. I have no experience with those two, so hopefully other will chime in.

Install a 1/4 turn throttle sleeve.

I have a 2007 1200 XLC with the SE AC and the V&H Straight Shot slip-ons. I just installed a used PC III USB on my bike. The change was phenomenal. Before, rapping on the throttle brought a wave of power; slow at first, followed by a rush. After the upgrade, though, the power is instantaneous. I'm using one of the canned maps as well. The only unpleasantness now is that when I drag down the engine, I get a fair amount of popping and the occasional backfire. I'm betting that a custom map -- tweaking -- will take care of that problem.

Thanks for the input guys. I too have that issue after my pipes and breather were upgraded, the popping and back fire (only when I let off the throttle) tuning or remapping the ECM should solve that issue from what I understand. I'm trying to hold out on that until after I figure out what I'm going to use to to increase the throttle response.

That throttle sleeve isn't a bad idea, may end up doing that, but what I'm looking for is more of the quicker reaction from the twins when I roll on the throttle. From what I understand, and correct me if I'm confused here, but the sleeve reduces the amount of roll on the actual throttle right?

I went with a Dynoject Power Vision and it increased throttle response and also made the Sporty run smoother with almost no more decel popping. I have an aftermarket air intake and slip ons. I bought through Fuel Moto because they had a custom tune for my bike and unlimited support with free tunes if I make additional upgrades.

I ordered my Power Commander yesterday. Should be in by Friday.
My bike is basically stock save for the 1/2" hole though the baffles.

I'll second the primary gearing suggestion. I left my 883 gearing intact after intalling my 1250. Its like a rocket on take offs. Also, cams are relatively inexpensive and pretty easy to install.

I'll state this again. If you are running a free flowing exhaust and a high flow air cleaner, you need some sort of fuel management device! Doing so will improve your throttle response and make your bike a lot better.
