Google 90304-98A . In the Images page, there's a couple pics of what appears to be those bags on an '04 and up Sportster. Also on that Google search, there's a PDF from Harley that's the install instructions for the turn signal relocation kit required for saddle bags. Maybe there's a clue in there somewhere.

I just found a set on eBay says the mounting holes are 10 5/8
So I measured my frame rail brackets they are 7 3/4 apart
Mine is an 07 sporty . Maybe some one with an 03 or older could measure theirs
Tough to tell from an eBay ad . If the frame rail cover bolts are the same on older
Sportys I'd say its a go . Looks like these bags were for 03 and older sportys. Looks like u need the brackets that come with the bags too
My 1997 is the same,but if you move your signal lights back the hole left their
to the shock bolt would be 10 5/8 inches maybe that is were you bolt on the
brackets.
