Yes, do this if you can, but I wouldn't actually ride it, might heat up your clutch too much. The trans oil comes in a quart container anyway, and that is how much it takes to refill... might as well drain it all out and replace with new. Stand it up while it's draining to get all the fluid out. Refill through the chain inspection cover (the small cover with two screws, above the derby cover).

Don't feel too bad, I did the same thing the first time I took that derby cover off to do the clutch adjustment. Forgot to put it on a jack and took the cover off while on the jiffy stand. Luckily, it's only an $8 lesson (cost of a quart of Formula+).

If that much fluid came out it was over full.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing here. Even if the bike was on the Jiffy stand and you opened the derby I do not believe there should be 3/4's of a quart coming out. That is a hell of a lot of fluid.

Best bet is what everyone is saying. Follow the Service Manual on how to change the primary fluid, drain it and start from scratch. Best me IMHO.

Now that you mention it... when I took my cover off while it was on the jiffy stand, I lost more like an oz, not 3/4 quart. Good catch.
