Default RE: Overheating??

I have had my motor get real hot before, but it has never shown any difference in performance when that happened. One time I had it going 4 hrs in bumper to bumper chicago traffic and then took it to ohio afterwards. I think the bike was running for a total of 10 hours with short breaks for food/gas without any problems. I never rode it in a parade.

I suggest if you anticipate riding in hot conditions, make sure your oil is topped off. That's all I have ever done. I've rode in Michigan, Florida, and now in Kentucky and I have not had any problems. I do feel a whole heck of a lot of heat coming off the engine when I'm at a stop though. I have not done any parades, but I don't doubt that it would be pushing it on a hot day.
