I did a search on this and couldn't find much, so if its out there already please just point me in the right direction.
I'm looking for a battery tender for my '12 Nightster. I've seen that some people like tenders from Schumacher. I'm curious what I need to look for in a tender, such as amp/volt ratings or anything else. I don't know anything about tenders, so a starting point would be a real help.
With the 3 bikes that I have, plus the 2 bikes my in-laws keep at my house during the winter, and the generator I have, all are connected to battery tenders during the winter months (except the generator which is mostly year-round). All are Schumacher's which I purchased at WalMart for under $20.00 each. There are many brands out there - some offering a couple more features than others. But when it comes to tenders, all you really need is a name brand with basic features. Shop around for name brands and purchase one that's on sale.
Tenders a tender. +1 for walmart. As long as it has auto shutoff when battery is charged which is probably a standard feature. Just make sure you get a tender and not a charger. Seen many people mix that up lol
