I'm thinking of getting a Powervision for my stock 2012 1200 Sportster Custom and to flash FM or DJ's stock 'Improved' tune to help the hot and lean problem these bikes come with from the factory.
Who has used a powervision on a stock Sportster just using only the 'Improved' tune provided by DJ or FM? How did it work out or did you have to do additional tuning just to get the bike to run well? (backfire, popping, flat, MPG issues after installing the load).
From what I have learned the 'Improved' tune will fix the hot & lean condition and also improve throttle response that these factory bikes exhibit, has anybody actually experienced these results?
Any and all inputs would be appreciated, let me know how it worked out for your Sportster.
The Power Vision is a great way to go. If you decide to go with the Power Vision, I sell them for $444.95 shipped to the lower 48 states...email me for details if you're interested. Also, for added capabilities look into the Autotune setup that goes with it.
I have purchased the Dynojet Power Vision and have had it for about 3 months or so. I love it. Well worth the money. It even has a auto tune feature used with your existing oxygen sensors. Of course you can add wideband sensors and get more out of it but im fine with stock. It has all kinds of guages you can set to monitor. I use the one that shows 6 different things. I use volts, engine temp., gear position, fuel economy, tach and fuel used but there are many more. It improved my performance big time.

Using the same setup of gauges myself with the PowerVision
I have a Powervision from Fuel Moto and have used their tunes on 2 bikes now with no issues. Both bikes have slip ons and a high flo air intake though, so aren't stock.
Hasn't anyone tried FM's or DJ's Improved stock tunes on their stock bike?
I don't have a Sportster, but did order a Power Vision for my Electra Glide.
I was having the same problems as you, running hot from the lean condition.
Jamie programmed the Power Vision for the stock 96, which I istalled last week and finally got out this weekend to ride.
I'm amazed by what the Power Vision has done, my scooter runs like a dream, doesn't run hot anymore. My mileage has increased, more power and better throttle response
And so many people here say a tuner, even for a simple stage one is overkill and people are buying them for stock bikes....I say that's a big FU to the EPA
