I just picked up my Iron 2013 yesterday. Managed to put a few kms down last night.

Can't say I noticed any noises, I've got screamin eagles so maybe they mask it a little. The only strange noise I've heard so far was under heavy braking, coming from the rear, I'll keep an eye (ear) on it.

The mirrors are terrible, I'm planning on flipping mine tonight to see how that goes. Everyone seems to support it. Would be strange to look down though.

As for finding neutral I haven't had any issues at all, on mine its easily done, must have got lucky. I have been wearing some alpinestars with a shifter pad, maybe that makes it a bit easier to feel?

Now I just need to prevent myself from blowing all my money outright on customising. I'm sure I can last a few weeks...

Nice review...that is why I pick the sporty to ride 9 times out of 10.

Proper clutch adjustment will make neutral easier to find.

I still wonder about my engine noise after 1100 miles, still find it hard to get used too
I found after my first service and had the clutch adjusted mine is smooth getting into neutral and before it was tight

Sometimes adding a "nut" to the threaded end of the mirrors can allow you to adjust the mirrors in more, then tighten the Nut to tighten the mirror.. might help?

Flip the mirrors and the view will be much better. Valvetrain noise is drowned out by my V&H SS exhaust. Neutral is very hard to find when the bike is new. Mine is becoming easier to go into as I rack up the miles, but I rarley use it anyway. I was told the more miles, the easier you will find neutral on the sporties. I was going to do forward controls, but I love my mids.

Flip your mirrors to under the bars and then you will be able to use them WAY better. I did it on my Iron and it helps. It takes some getting used to because now you have to glance down to see behind you, but its not that bad.

I don't find neutral very hard to find. I'm sure it gets easier as the bike breaks in though.

I have an Iron 883 with stock handlebars. When I first got it, I couldn't see much in the mirrors besides my shoulders and saw nothing directly behind. I relocated the front turn signals to the fork and flipped the mirrors underneath.

That made a huge difference! I can see everything behind me and in the lanes on either side. I highly recommend moving the mirrors below the bars.

Flip your mirrors as stated. Much better view and doesn't take any longer than to glance at your speedo or mirrors before. Some people must have extremely slow moving eyes. Only drawback is if ever ridden 2-up I always looked at my passengers knees with em flipped. Evo's are noisy, totally normal. It gets easier to find neutral as bike breaks in, also I went to Amsoil synthetic in both holes and shifting was quieter, smooth and no problems finding neutral. Also engine didn't get as hot on the legs.
