As it has been said before....first flip the mirrors if running stock bars. Second, the Evo design is louder but more fun.
And lastly, picture the Iron like a hot new girlfriend. Doubt she'll just let you in her pants without the secret touch. Same with the Iron. Neutral is a special touch of the foot shift and clutch pressure. If you don't do it right, the bike will not give it to you. And even then it still may make it tough if you're not on your game.
I bought a new 2013 Iron 883. I read a lot about how people can't see with the mirrors (arms/shoulders get in the way), so I had the dealership flip them. I could never see out of them correctly, so I flipped them back. I tried adjusting them when they were flipped down, but nothing seemed to work. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm 6 ft tall. Am I too tall? Seems like the only way I could see out of them is if i crouched down real far (bending my back).
Firstly, the Iron is a very sweet ride. I picked up mine in March. Also had the same problem with the mirrors, only see elbow. I've flipped mine and it takes some getting used too but the view is much better and the handlebars looks much cleaner.

I have never had a problem seeing out of mine , but it took a bit of fussing with them. I'm a small guy though. 5'6" 175. seems like the taller wider guys have more problems. I set on my iron with my truck behind me and just messed with the angles until i got them right. not just back and forth but also up and down.
I have Vance and Hines short shots and I can hear the valves over those things too. Even at 105! It's just one of those Sporty things. Plus, it's better for the valves to be bangin' than burnin'!
Had a license plate frame on my R60/5 BMW that said "loud valves save lives". Maybe I need a new one for the Sporty......
I picked up my 2013 Iron last week. I'm having the same problems with the mirrors. I tried to flip them but it didn't feel right and only marginally helped the field of view, so back they went.
I am having the same problem with finding N too. I'm hoping after she breaks in that it will be easier.
