I think i read here the frame is different,but i'am sure you could make it work,i have a 97 to, but for the price of the bag and what it will hold, i did not bother to get one.
if the frame is different I wouldn't count on being able to make it work (provided you're talking about the harley single sided swing arm bag). The mounting bracket has very specific bolt in points. You might be better off getting something like a larosa that mounts with straps.

Funny cause I am actually looking at a la rosa. And I emailed them
"Hi, the 04 up bag does not fit the 97, regards. Some guys have
installed it on 03 down, but I just do no like the looks
If I find something I like why would I go another route? A small bag that isn't huge is either swing arm or fork bag. And I don't want to run a fork bag
