Hi Guys, I want to increase the breathing of my 2000 1200S HDI spec bike. It is currently still fitted with the "OE" type filter (See Image) which is not freely available. Is K&N the only replacement or their another replacement. My HD is fitted with straight thru screaming eagle exhausts.
Any advise will be appreciated.
Are you just looking for the filter element or do you want a whole new a/c? If looking for a new a/c, here's what I got from Hammer Performance. They also make variations that can use a stock hamcan. NRHS also carries the Hurricane Flow which also uses a stock hamcan: http://www.nrhsperformance.com/partshurricaneflow.shtml.
Thanks Guys, Unfortunately very few aftermarket A/C's are available in South Africa for HD bikes. From the local HD dealers you can get Screaming Eagle and K&N performance filters. Lots of other performance AC importers for other bike makes.(Japs)
Don't mean to hijack the thread but I got a quick question I figure I could ask here as opposed to starting a new thread..
My 883 came with python slip-on(I believe they are slip-on) pipes, if I upgrade the air cleaner do I need to get the fuel injection reprogrammed or is this something the computer compensates on its own?
Thanks in advance for any replies. I appreciate it.
HD has a Stage 1 ECM flash that they can do when you change a/c and pipes to keep from running too lean. A lot of people say it's a waste of money since the FI can compensate some for fuel mixture changes. Last I checked the flash costs about $150. If it were me I'd do the flash since it's recommended by HD. But, before you spend the money you need to decide if you will want a tuner in the future such as Power Vision or other. If you get a tuner you don't need the flash. A good self learning tuner like a Power Vision will compensate for most fuel mixture requirements. A tuner will cost you some where around $450 for self learning tuner. The Power Vision runs about $550. Hammer Performance recommends Power Vision http://hammerperf.com/xlfuelsystems.shtml#powervision and TTS Master Tune http://hammerperf.com/xlfuelsystems.shtml#tts. Harley also has a race tuner available which I believe is self learning. That info is a little vague but It'll give you a place to start.
