Default Going deaf......help!

OK, i bought a used 2004 Custom XL. Everything is sweeeeet, but the baffles were removed when I bought it.

I like loud, but this is LOUD, I mean LOOOOUUUUUDD! I have put up with it for a while now but I can no longer take it. The noise is ridiculous. I'm 42 and don't need the attention, lol!

I am not a wrencher, so, my question is, can I just buy baffles and slip them into the stock pipes? What are the considerations?

Like I said, I like a little loud so any recommendations you can make on what to buy, that would be appreciated too.

Thanks for you help y'all.

What pipes are on your bike? The stock mufflers are not loud at all, so either your mufflers have been replaced or someone removed the stock baffles by drilling them out. You might look at getting a set of take off stock mufflers.

What kind of pipes are on it now ? I might have a set of Cycle Shack slip-ons that came off my 06 to sell.

They are the 2004 stock pipes. I will take a closer look to try and determine what, if any, mods were done?

Sounds like I will have to buy some slip ons...

Haven't you heard that saying, If it's too loud you're too old!

Seriously though, these might be a cheap option. It says you can "adjust the sound"

My Pythons around town rides are loud but fine by me. It's when I take a trip, I'm on my bike like one hour or so they wear on me along with the wind. So I use earplugs and all is fine.

I'd try with earplugs, but then again, I subscribe to the loud pipes save lives theory.

Check Craigslist for stock pipes. They are usually cheap

Umm stock pipes....slip ons will not be quieter at all. Post a pic or 2 and maybe we can help determine what is on there. If they are stock pipes though you might wanna sell the bike and buy a Honda or something.......I'm about to turn 42 in May and have no issues with louder pipes

These are stock pipes when my bike was brand new...
