So i am guessing the tank HD sticker is clear coated over.. So i would need to paint everything to get rid of it.

If an emblem like those above covers the decals on your tank, so you can't see the decal, that will be fine, however a lot of decals cover a larger area than emblems. Best thing is to find something you like and do what is necessary.
Apparently some will think my bike is "cheesy" but I did what you are talking about. Covered the stock ugly decal on my bike with a new one. I carried the look onto the fenders also.
