do you have the trim that run down the center of the tank on your custom?
if so, I don't think the pop up cap will work, oh..and im pretty sure they're vented caps.
I just got done putting a HD chrome flush mount on my 2012 C 1200. Love it! I believe all newer bikes are vented. Sure someone can chime in with dates. You don't mention your bikes year.
The trim has been removed for paint. I don't want to put the center trim on. I'm debating on using my stock cap without the trim or get the flush mount ones for a sleek look. Just needs to be sure it'll fit and or keep my stock ones

It's a 2008. Was it as simple as just screwing it in?

The whole cap screws out of existing hole just like a regular cap except no clicking when closed, just a snug down and that's it. Press down a little, turn just a bit and closed. Opposite for opening.
Only thing I could not figure is the ring is chromed plastic....go figure? I still like the pop up better than stock. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/membe...t-gas-cap.html
